Yard Sale Boutique Fundraiser Summary!!

Last November TRUE Leader put on a Yard Sale Boutique Fundraiser. All the proceeds from the event went to the A21 campaign to help abolish Human trafficking. The event turned out to be a huge success and set the bar for the many more to be had in the future! We had items donated from many people including mens, kids, baby,  womens, accessories and some designer items! We had Vera Bradley, Lily Pullitzer, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, St Johns Bay, and many more brands! It was quite a process to put on but well worth it. I made fliers and handed them to local businesses and posted them on telephone poles. Jenna and Lindsey M helped me make tags and me and Hillary E tagged all the clothes, priced and hung them. We had well over 500 items donated. The day of the event Janel , Hillary and I got up at 4:30 and set up all the racks and tables in the front yard we made it look very girly and "boutique" like. We roped off the front yard and had a little entrance near the check out table for people to come in and out. It was a fairly cold morning so we had hot apple cider and cookies to sell along with the clothes. Many people came by and were very intrigued by the whole thing. We went above and beyond what you would expect for a yard sale and since it was a fundraiser they were more likely to buy and throw in a couple bucks to our donation jar. All together we raised over 800 dollars !! Clean up was easy and we had lots of help!(Jen D, Tori M, Savannah M, Jenna and Lindsey M)  If you are interested in doing a similar event let us know!! Its fun and a great way to get involved in the community and build your character! I thought I was not going to able to do it at one point and was going to be happy if we made 10 dollars but with the help of God I made it through and know what it takes to do an event like this and what could be improved for next time. If you have a good idea about something I encourage you to try it especially if it is something you don't think you can accomplish because that forces you to rely on God who can do all things and its a great reminder of what were capable of when we do press in to Him!
