Torie and Jasmine... Worship is such a great way to start quiet time! Something else that has an effect on hearing from God is what Gary talked about at camp last year. If there is sin and disobedience in your life that really "scrambles the signal." So as you are preparing with worship and prayer make sure you begin by asking the Holy Spirit to show you any areas of your life where you need to repent and ask forgiveness. Sometimes when I do that the HS shows me someone I need to apologize to or maybe if I have been comparing myself to someone else and have allowed in negative thoughts I am prompted to remember God's promises for my life and clean the lies out.. thing is you can only do that if you're in the Word and know His promises!! Hearing from God takes consistent time spent with Him, just like a friend they often aren't going to spill their guts to you if you haven't developed the relationship with time, love and trust. Know this Psalm 38:15 says, "I wait for you, O Lord; you will answer, O Lord my God." and Psalm 65:5 says, "You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas."
So no doubt even if you don't feel like you are hearing Him, He is hearing you and as you wait on Him, He will answer you!!! PRAISE GOD!
We will definitely talk more about this at camp!!! Can't wait to see you there!!

Jasmine!! i am so proud that your relationship with God is growing stronger!! When I have quiet time sometimes I start it off with worship, just to get my mind focused on God! This might help you be more in tune with your spirit and maybe you will here God clearer!! Let me know if this helps!!
