Exfoliation
Are you using God’s Word to scrub the impurities from your heart and soul? As dead skin cells need to be washed away to let the healthy skin beneath shine through, our heart and soul need to be refreshed. Body scrubbers and bath mitts whisk away dead skin; use God’s Word to do the same for your heart and soul.
Foundation
Lots of girls start their look with foundation. It’s the bottom layer that holds everything else together. Did you know you can put on a spiritual foundation, too? Try to imagine applying foundation of faith each morning before you go out. As you put on your makeup or do your hair, put the Word of God in your mind. It will form the base of your actions throughout the day.
Hair
Sometimes you break out a cute set of clips or even cut a few inches from your do to change your look. Your hair says a lot about you. So does your attitude, though. And you can change that from day to day through Bible study. Get into the Word to learn how to develop attitudes that are honest, real, and show off who you really are as God’s child.
Luscious Lashes
No matter what mascara you use, it takes a few swipes to get your lashes as dark as you like them. Remember this the next time you study God’s Word. It’s not something that will stick with one quick stroke. As with mascara, you have to build up layers to get the effect you want. By repeating your habits of study and prayer, you build up a solid, lusciously faithful exterior that will catch people’s eye.
Your Skin Type
Are you getting maximum results from your spirituality? If you haven’t determined what type of worship is best for you, your spiritual life could be suffering. Like your skin, your spiritual life can get clogged up or dry when you don’t know how to work with the type you have. To make your spirituality feel fresh and healthy again, determine what type of worship work for you.
Sparkling Eyes
Do you make your eyes sparkle by using makeup? If so, that’s only half of what you’ll need. Your eyes are windows to your soul. So when you’re in touch with God, this shines through. People can see it in your eyes because its something that comes from the deepest part of you. Pair your makeup with the spark of faith in your soul to get knockout eyes that shine and sparkle with God’s love.
Style
Walking away from the mall with new gear gets you beautiful by relying on something temporary- fashion. Wisdom, on the other hand, is forever. The Book of Proverbs tells us it’s the best thing you can get, no matter what’s hot on the runways this year. So you’ll always be in style if you live by the wisdom of God’s Word.
Tanning
When you tan, the rays of the sun reach deep into your skins cells to tint them them a whole new color. Next time your lying out and feel the deep heat of the sun, try imagining God. That’s what his love is like. It’s so intense that, if we stay in it long enough, he changes us. He makes our character deep and even, like a nice, solid tan.
Triple Conditioning
For your hair, triple moisturizing conditioners get deep down and make it shine. For your soul, the Trinity is your triple conditioner. It’s got deep, penetrating power that gets in touch with you because the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each have different ways of getting into the deepest part of you and making you shine.
Zit Zapping
You target your pimples with acne treatment, right? It just makes sense. The pimple’s a blemish that must be destroyed! But what about blemishes in your spiritual life? They show, too, and can make you look bad. So try keeping a “tube” of spiritual blemish treatment with you by writing down a few verses that you can rely on when things get rough. Then use the verses to zap spiritual problem areas.
Smiled Lately?
You’re trapped in a room without access to any makeup, fresh clothes, or even a mirror. What’s the quickest way to improve your personal appearance? Smile. A warm, friendly smile can go a long way to allowing the natural beauty that resides in you to express it self.
Long-Lasting Beauty
It’s no secret that beautiful people generally get more attention. But the Bible says that beauty can be deceptive if you only look skin deep. Proverbs 31:30 says, “Charm can fool you, and beauty can trick you, but a woman who respects the Lord should be praised.” What kind of woman are you?
Your Style
Do you have a defining style? Have you adopted a look that fits your personality? Building your life (and your look) on a truth from God’s Word can not only change the way you see yourself; it can have a lasting impact on how others see you, too!
The Comparison Trap
Do you ever find yourself looking at other girls and comparing yourself to them? In Matthew 22:39, Jesus says “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” That kind of love begins by accepting yourself the way God made you. So quit the comparisons and embrace the beauty God’s given you.
Avoiding the Fashion Police
In order to avoid being a fashion victim. Wear clothes that fit your figure. Pslam 139:13-16 says that God formed you in your mothers womb in an amazing way. Accept the shape God gave you and work with it. Find clothes that accentuate your best features.
