So an update on my pies....
i have finished with the baking for a while... I'm hoping to start again next year, but i have made an agreement with my mom to focus on raising money for Living Word's mission trip to Costa Rica! (yes, super exciting-- :D big smiles)
The baking part was such a great adventure and experience... I learned a lot about the wonderful world of baking, and of course my strengths and weaknesses. I spent countless hours mixing dough and checking the oven. I went into Church every Sunday and Wednesday with at least one pie in hand. I told- God only knows how many- people about the A21 Campaign and what they are doing. I made my mom take numerous trips to the grocery store (preferably Lowes, because its my favorite!) I skipped out on some opportunities to hang with my friends...
All to bake 25 pies and make 300 wonderful dollars, in two and a half months, for the A21 Campaign!
The whole thing was great, i made some good memories and had wonderful support from my Mama, Janel, my friends, and of course those who bought a pie or two!
I also got to do a great interview with Janel about the whole process, so that was super fun! i included a few pictures... one of the process, and one of the finished pies! (:
To anyone who wants to do SOMETHING, whatever that is, do it!!
What is something that tears at your heart?
What are some beautiful qualities God has given you?
Do you bake? Or sew or knit? play sports? Do you like to organize things? There are so many ways God can use you!
Pray about it and ask God what you can do! Be willing to listen for the answer. Then be sure not to rationalize your way out of it. Your going to tell yourself all the reasons you can't do what you want to... but this is what Jesus says, "For people it is impossible, but for God ALL THINGS are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
Big emphasis on ALL THINGS! With God you can do all things. So ladies, let this be your encouragement to step forward and be the change you want to see. :)
